No, mostly the show is a parade of bad jokes, delivered in the manic, effortful tones of a carnival barker.

But that is not standard on Fuller House. There is a particularly amusing bit involving resident weirdo Kimmy Gibbler ( Andrea Barber, dancing as fast as she can) falling down the stairs, that, what can I say, did it for me. They’re two different kinds of fantasy designs for living-HGTV’s pragmatic and inviting, Fuller House’s decidedly more sinister.įuller House is by no means good, though I will confess to laughing, out loud, at a few moments in the third season. Fuller House’s has a fevered charge to it, a restless, unsettled anxiety, whereas HGTV shows trade in simple results and satisfaction. When watching it, a kind of mind-blanking stasis descends, one different from HGTV’s warm spell. There’s just something so consumable about Fuller House-for me, anyway. Why I’ve done that to myself is a question heavy on my mind today, as I simultaneously mourn those wasted hours, and, to my great concern, remain eager for the second half of the third season, which will premiere later this year, presumably. Yet here it is again, back for another run of bright, loud episodes.Īnd there I was watching them, as I have every episode of the series.

Though Netflix does not release ratings information, viewership for the show-a continuation of the Full House narrative begun on ABC back in 1987-reportedly took a massive hit after the initial curiosity factor faded. Haven’t checked out Season 5 yet? Watch the trailer and you might just change your mind.Like any good American, I spent the weekend watching Fuller House, Netflix’s curious bit of necromancy that is somehow in its third season.

Until then, you have plenty of time to binge the entire series from the start as we prepare for the end. It seems like a safe bet to expect part two of Season 5 in the spring of 2020. But if we look back to when Season 3 was split into two parts, it only took about three months for the second half to be released on the streaming service. But when will the remaining episodes hit Netflix? An official announcement has not been made as of this writing. Now that the She-Wolf Pack are all engaged in some way, we can expect a triple wedding in the second half of Season 5.

Once it clicked that Steve was finally going to pop the question, I got a little misty-eyed and felt genuine happiness for DJ! (I may have even screamed, “Oh, Mylanta!”) I’ve got to admit, I was totally sold on the whole flash mob being for Kimmy. It was a flash mob like none other, complete with cameo appearances from the likes of Uncle Jesse, Joey, and Danny Tanner. Luckily the over-the-top moment was saved for perhaps “the” couple of the show. Though it may have seemed over-the-top, it would’ve been a cute moment for them. Lastly, the “will he, won’t he” proposal finally came to fruition in the midseason finale when Steve swerved us all to propose to DJ.Įpisode 9 led us to believe Fernando was going all out to re-propose to Kimmy. Kimmy and Fernando continued to rekindle their relationship and are now set to be married a second time. Stephanie and Jimmy welcomed baby Danielle home in the season opener before eventually confirming their engagement.
